Nokia introduces new extended family, named Asha, Asha comes from the Hindi language, which means hope. Asha 200, 201, 300 and 303 is a series of entry level mobile phone that runs on Series 40 (S40). Line of entry-level S40 is specifically aimed at users of the Nokia with the term as the ‘next billion’ users and to emerging markets.
Asha 200 and Asha 201 look very similar to the Nokia C3, where Nokia claims to have buried the most powerful speakers. Asha 200 supports dual SIM cards, has a QWERTY keyboard, 32GB of internal storage, and batteries that can be used for 52 hours.
While her sister, Asha 201 also comes with the same features. The difference, 201 does not support dual SIM but has a loudspeaker with Performance quite charming. Both are mounted on the price of € 60.
Asha 303 looks very similar to the Nokia X3-02 touch’n’type which also offers a 3.2MP camera on the back. Asha 303 had designs like a conventional mobile phone with the use of a numeric keypad, but the screen 2.6 “capacitive touchscreen that he had made it look more modern. Asha 303 reinforced with a 1GHz processor, and features Nokia Maps.
Meanwhile, for Asha 300 also offers a 1GHz processor and 3G connectivity and touchscreen devices alike. Asha 300 seems quite similar to the Asha 303 in terms of specification. However, Asha 303 comes in dual SIMcard while Asha 300 instead of the dual SIMcard but has 5 MP camera.
All four phones will come with support Asha Nokia Browser which has Cloud technology and can compress data up to 90% at least be able to suppress the amount of data usage. Nokia Asha 303 around 115 EURO, and will go on sale in Q4 2011. Nokia Asha 300 about 85 EURO and will be marketed in Q4 2011.
